fixed it, turns out i need to download raws instead of linking, otherwise i get html

This post is from 2012, the errors I am assuming you are getting now are saying that /extensions/x64/tf2items.ext.so is missing if you are running TF2 in 64 bit. You will have to wait for someone to release a 64 bit version of this plugin, or try and compile it yourself in 64bit, as of right now this extension is unusable with TF2 64 bit.
