Which one is newest and best to use?

I guess its called "final" for a reason, and the snapshot is just a less stable beta.....or?

How does one upgrade to newer sourcemod and metamod? Really never done it before.

Do you just log into your server via filezilla, then remove the sourcemod and metamod, at the addons folder? And...

I'm currently using 1.5.4-git4088 (http://www.sourcemod.net/smdrop/1.5/sourcemod-1.5.4-git4088-windows.zip) for my L4D2 server.
Would there be any advantage for me, to use this final 1.6 instead?
