Reply With Quote #1

I'm running a L4D2 server through Ubuntu and when I run the start up command

./srcds_run -command autoupdate -game left4dead2 -maxplayers 8 -ip 99.8.88.91 -port 27068

it gives me the "Couldn't Allocate Any Server IP Port, tried 1 addresses" then it just restarts. I don't want to remove it because then when the status of the server gets checked it shows 127.0.0.1 (public 99.8.88.91:2706 and on a real valve server it shows "same as public" (99.8.88.91:2706

I want mine to show same as public and not 127.0.0.1

HELP!

Have you tried +ip 99.8.88.91 instead? Just a quick thought.

I host windows servers so i'm not sure if Ubuntu is causing the issue but that problem is notorious with windows servers too so it's probably not the OS. I do know if you host off your same computer then connecting to your server via your actual IP would give you that error and it's best to connect with 127.0.0.1. Only downside to that is if friends try to connect to the server you're connecting on then they can't connect because it will give them the 127.0.0.1 IP to connect too. They would have to put in your IP manually to connect.

Hosting off another computer . It works great when I don't add any IP after -ip but when you are in and check server status it shows the 127.0.0.1 and I don't want people to see that. I want it to look as official as possible. That is the only problem I've been having other than that I've got it all set up as offical.
