I followed the instructions for installing SourceMM, but when I try to start the console I get this printout:

Then it hangs for a few minutes, then it prints out somethin like "The dungeon collapses....you die!". Any help is greatly appreciated.

reinstall screen, try again.

It's not screen. I have 12 other servers running on the same box over various games and they all work fine. Could it be anything else?

do you have any mods installed like css:dm ect?
what plugins, linux distro, gcc version and so on.

There were no mods on that install of CS:S (other than the fakeclients to go with the sourceMM). The operating system is Red Hat linux with gcc 2.3.2
