Hello! I am trying to install SourceMod on my Left 4 Dead server and I'm running into some problems. I've never done a manual install of MetaMod and SourceMod and I'm stuck at this point.

I'm using a Linux server and running the latest version of L4D (v1.0.0.7)

I installed MetaMod: Source v1.7.0V yesterday. I get this when I type meta version into rcon console:

Metamod:Source version 1.7.0
Build ID: 616:8453e69f1827
Loaded As: Valve Server Plugin
Compiled on: Nov 26 2008
Plugin interface version: 14:14
SourceHook version: 5:5
http://www.metamodsource.net/

Today I downloaded sourcemod-1.04.tar.gz and unzipped it, putting the sourcemod folder into my addons directory and the cfg folder into my cfg directory.

When I typed meta list into the console, I got this message:
Listing 3 plugins:
[01] <ERROR>
[04] <ERROR>
[05] <ERROR>

When I typed metal load sm into console, I got this message:
Failed to load plugin sm (File not found: .../l4d/left4dead/sm_i486.so).

I looked for this file and did not find it in the left4dead parent folder.

Next, I got this when I typed meta info 1 into console:
Plugin 1 is not loaded.
File: .../l4d/left4dead/../left4dead/addons/metamod/bin/server_i486.so

I got this when I typed meta info 4 into console:
Plugin 4 is not loaded.
File: .../l4d/left4dead/addons/sourcemod/bin/sourcemod_mm_i486.so

I got this when I typed meta info 5 into console:
Plugin 5 is not loaded.
File: .../l4d/left4dead/addons/metamod/bin/server_i486.so

I checked the directories and those files are all there.

Also, I have a TF2 server with MetaMod v1.6.2.703V and SourceMod v1.0.3 installed. I compared the directories of the two servers. I noticed that in my /addons/metamod folder in the TF2 server that I had a sourcemod.vdf file that my L4D server didn't have which read:
"Metamod Plugin"
{
"alias" "sourcemod"
"file" "addons/sourcemod/bin/sourcemod_mm"
}

I copied this file into the same folder for my L4D server...I'm not sure if this matters or makes a difference or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Dang, I knew it would be something simple like that that I completely overlooked.

Thanks so much for your help.

Btw, when I typed meta list in the console, I got this:
Listing 3 plugins:
[01] <ERROR>
[02] SourceMod (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC
[03] SDK Tools (1.2.0-dev) by AlliedModders LLC

And when I typed meta info 1, I got this:
Plugin 1 is not loaded.
File: .../l4d/left4dead/../left4dead/addons/metamod/bin/server_i486.so

HSLW now shows SourceMod v1.2.0-dev as an AddOn, so should I be worried about that first error?

It just shows you are trying to load metamod as a plugin for metamod.

Means there is an extra entry in metaplugins.ini or an extra .vdf somewhere.
