but the l33t dont use a vent bind cuz you can have it auto_cue

Hey skipp the thing whit fade to black.
Make so that when a player dies he spawns as a camera similar as the torture chamber ;) then they can sit there and view a litte fun stuff and chat whitout the black screen... and admins should be exepteted to this treatment so they can spec ppl when they are dead.

Dam Haderlump, loosen up. This is a forum for tossing ideas around and trying to make better and more useful plugins. Most everyone appreciates that you've done the work to port this. I really like this idea as well, but in watching my servers for a long while now, the incidence of same ip players is really pretty low. Incidence of Ventrilo and Teamspeak users is high. This plugin is the closest thing to what I'm (and apparently others as well) are looking for to try to deal with it. Seems to me that this is naturally the right place to discuss the possibilities. You may not want to do anything about it, but someone else reading this may get an idea of how to deal with it and write the plugin.

I'd love a working method, plugin or otherwise, to catch/stop them, short of fadetoblack and team spec only.

its obvious that mp_forcechasecam wont work here - when you set it to 2, then noone can spectate the other team, whatever flags assigned to him.

i guess it must go the other way, you would have to make mp_forcechasecam set it to 0, just block people without special accessflags from making use of it.

i dont know much about the event system hl servers uses, will it be announced there when people change spec view mode? then it might be possible to catch that, and simply turn the players screen to black and set volume to zero until hes spectating his own team in first person mode again.

something like that would be the only chance to do this, i will take a deeper look into the reference.


has anyone tryed the eye mm plugin yet? i use it on our server, but it does everything except working like it is supposed to. i can spectate people, but switching between then is messing my viewmode up :S

maybe the latest hl enging update fixed it tho, i ll test

It seems that there were some variable conflicts with the script. This one compiles and is the same as the other version (so if it doen't work, its not my update.)

Well the server accepted it but it doesnt actually do anything i had 1 of my admins 2 test it and nothig is changed....
