Strings arent problem anymore in L4D2 since TLS update, you can have full lobbies on maps that dont have stringtable built in at all. However, the crash does STILL happen on maps that have very old stringtables, but you would have to basically play map made only for l4d1 for that to happen.

But, yes, map is 9 years old.
I just randomly chose the first map I came across
Perhaps, people have much fewer problems in L4D2, because there are many maps, that still actively supported and updated by original authors. Or they just don't know what to look for in crash reports ))

above link: Kokiri Forest (Fixed) is a great example. Rhetorical question to administrators:

Why should I bother help community to fix broken maps and upload them to GameMaps,
if they remove it after < 2 years of the last update. This guy did exactly that same crash fix. And he properly credited the original author.

Are you doing something that would make your string cache too big? Like loads of model precaching and downloads? They incrased the stringtable limit but i guess even that isnt enough if server has so much stuff to put into it.

My server is running epsilon talker with ion's limited talker, some precaches and downloads but im still not encountering any stringtable issues. Im running Windows server though, i dont know about Linux.

Uhh, it's not a good idea to put VPKs in dedicated servers on the account of some issues that pop up along the way.

Every VPK i have is modified by me, to make sure theres no conflicts or replacing vanilla content.

well I have a problem that happens every time the server restarts.
the round begins and the points do not advance and the game never ends.
I solve it by changing the map but sometimes I can't be every time after restarting it.



I don't know if I'll be missing something.

That's usually a result of flow being broken. It should never happen on stock map unless your plugins malfunction.
