Updated, the new light style methods 1 and 2 should cover all the walls and corners.


1.1 (15-May-2012)
- Added cvar "l4d2_storm_style". Method to refresh map light style: 0=Old (0.2 sec low FPS, does not the whole world). 1=Almost always lights the whole world (0.5 sec low FPS), 2=Lights the whole world (1 sec low FPS).
- Added command "sm_farz" to set the maps far z-clip. This will make the map stop rendering stuff after the specified distance.
- Added data config keys "far_z_idle" and "far_z_storm" which control the maps far z-clip when the weather is idle/storm.
- Added data config key "lightning_time" to control how long fires burn when lightning strikes the ground.

Ok. Do you mean fog_idle and fog_storm in custom section? I run a versus server and I get complaints for c1m1_hotel fog(well most of closed quarter maps), especially from infected side. If I delete the map specifics section will it run main?

Has anyone configured a good data file?

Everything besides the thick fog is liked by players ! Nice job!

If you delete the map specific section then yeah it will run the main section.

That's why you should set the fog_idle and fog_storm values to 0, to something like 5000 in the c1m1_hotel section. I tested and doing either works.

The default config provided should have no fog on that level.

I'll just install everything again. Wait I'm confused as the value goes higher does players see less fog?

I installed everything again and the default has fog for c1m1_hotel. I'll just follow what you say and I'll set fog_storm and fog_idle higher.

Setting "fog_idle" and "fog_storm" to "0" works for me. It may be best to set the value to something like "10000", then the fog should not be visible.

you did it man now the area is pitch black,but some lights in map no longer light the way,check out c8m2_subway's saferoom lights

here's an interesting request : add per gamemode settings,like having only a certain or selectable weather type for versus and a different type or selectable type for coop

Mind testing another version? I'm assuming this is just a delay issue, otherwise there's nothing that can be done.
