You need to detect the first packet of every download. Up to you how to implement it. My plugin only downloads a single file at once to keep things simple.

Why are we making people reinvent the wheel again? I would think it's better for everyone to just use this extension then reimplement HTTP on their own.

This extension can't download more than ~5-6 kb of data.

I played with this extension a while ago and it seems that there is no way to make it work in proper way without hardcoding. So I think sockets is a good alternative.
