[Dr. Septapus]

My sm_admin menu no longer appears in game. Usually it shows up as that little box we all know, with the numerical navigation. After adding some configs to the server, I went and edited the adminmenu_cfgs.txt to make these configs executable from the admin menu. However now instead of the admin menu popping up, I get a line of text saying "you have a menu, press esc". Pressing escape does indeed bring up a menu, but it doesn't have all the options the first menu had, and if i got to the server configs section, it actually just quits and nothing happens. I would very much like to have the old menu back, and reuploading a backup version of the txt file did not fix the issue, I cannot think of anything else that changed besides tf2 getting updated.

Can anybody help me with this? Any help will be appreciated.

Edit: After poking around it seems like sometimes this is caused by an out of date gamedata folder. But it seems the last update was in September and this is a relatively new install. Unless I am missing something?

Yea I have a kinda similar problem. My menu opens, however the player, server, and voting look like the innards of a .smx file, and under each one there are about 3 of each command and 12 wingdings. I use one copy of the /tf custom content folder that I copy between servers, to keep all files nice and clean. I installed Randomizer then everything just derped, only on that one server tho. I used the same files on 2 other servers, and they worked. Its weird.
P.S. pictures or a visual of some sort may help with the process from what I have seen at-least.

I found that I didn't even have a gamedata folder, so I decided to just try a full reinstall. This seemed to work but unfortunately I still don't know what caused the issue.
