Hello iam having a serious problem with my server(s) since they are pretty popular.
The bans dosnt save!... Really annoying :>.

I'am not 100% sure its the basebans but the banned_user and banned_ip's is allways clean(empty)

And i really want it to work since there is alot of hackers in there aswell.

Thanks in advance.

do you have

exec banned_user.cfg
exec banned_ip.cfg (<- not sure here XD )
writeid
writeid

in server.cfg????

It is necessary to have it in this order not the other way round!

the problem is, the steam serverupdates rewrite that file, and you lose all the banned steam ids that were in it.

Sure? I was using banned_user.cfg for years and I never experienced something like this?

Are the bans cleared if you disable basebans? If yes your Problem is not related to basebans

Create .../cfg/autoexec.cfg and add
Code:
exec banned_user.cfg
exec banned_ip.cfg

I'm having the same problem in my CSGO server.

I'm going to try moving the exec banned_user.cfg to my autoexec.cfg and leave writeid in my server.cfg file.

Also, what is "basebans" and why are some people disabling it ??

Wepnet, the problem is basebans.smx is in the scripting folder when it should be in plugins.

Cain, basebans is the default ban plugin that comes with Sourcemod. Many people disable it and use Sourcebans or some alternate ban system as an alternative.

Bans still not working properly.

They are loaded properly, and doing a listid shows all the bans, but players on the ban list have no problem connecting and playing.
