Good day,

I'd like to know if you can use sm_play with a URL? Like, sm_play http://www.blah.com/sound.mp3

I'm wondering if there's a mod similar to this, but instead of calling a local sound, could call one directly from a webserver URL.

I'm just wondering if one exists, or if it's even possible. I have specific sounds I'd like to play, but I don't want to force the clients to download them.

I saw this but I couldn't use it because the clients would need the adobe flash player for other browsers. I've tested it on myself and It brings up the web page in the MOTD, but will not display the flash player.

If you are trying to play flash, then clients are going to need it regardless of how the plugin is coded.

As far as I'm aware, you have two options to play sounds:

1. Force the client to download the sound from your server, then PrecacheSound and EmitSound/EmitSoundToAll.
2. Open the sound in the MOTD browser. However, to my knowledge opening a sound file directly this way will NOT play it. Meaning you need something like Flash installed on the client.

Yeah, I tried that already it doesn't work. I guess my only option is to force a client download then? Since not all clients would have the Flash player for other browsers.
