Hello everyone,

I've got a question:

Does metamod and sourcemod have a latest file download, as in like this:

metamodsource.net/mmsdrop/1.10/mmsource-latest-linux.tar.gz (latest for 1.10 branch)
metamodsource.net/mmsdrop/mmsource-latest-linux.tar.gz (latest build)
sourcemod.net/smdrop/1.5/sourcemod-latest-linux.tar.gz (latest for 1.5 branch)
sourcemod.net/smdrop/sourcemod-latest-linux.tar.gz (latest build)

The problem right now is that certain games and even certain OSes currently require different builds.

For instance:
TF2 server on Windows needs:
MetaMod: Source 1.9.0 or newer
SourceMod 1.4.7-hg something
(optional) SDKHooks 2.1 or newer
(optional) TF2Items 1.5.2-hg205 or newer (should be using 1.5.3 now though)

TF2 server on Linux needs:
MetaMod: Source 1.10 latest
SourceMod 1.5 latest
(optional) SDKHooks 2.2.0 hg205 rebuilt .so file
(optionall) TF2Items 1.5.3 or newer

I don't run a CS:S server, but from what I've heard, right now it needs:
MetaMod: Source 1.9.1 latest or 1.10.0 latest
SourceMod 1.4.6 (but SourceMod 1.5.0 latest is recommended because of extension changes)
SDKHooks 2.2.0 latest
Specially built .so files for all extensions for SourceMod 1.5.0. 1.4.6 requires extension .so files from before the Halloween update changed the ep2v dependencies.

CS:GO needs
MetaMod: Source 1.9.0 or newer
SourceMod 1.5.0 latest
SDKHooks 2.2.0 latest

and those are just 3 games across two OSes. I haven't even addressed L4D2, which seems to require updates every other week.

I mean, all latest ones, the very very edge builds, not at all?

I wanted to make a shell script that will actually download latest metamod and sourcemod through curl.

We don't encourage staying on the tip dev builds, there could be broken ones.

EDIT: That said, I believe there are a few scripts for this floating around the donor section, there is also a feature request open for a "latest" link.

SourceMod 1.5.0 splits CS:S out to its own engine. This is important, as CS:S is no longer synced with the Orange Box games. Right now, CS:S on Linux can't run the same extensions as TF2 on Linux anyway, due to a breaking change in the Halloween update.
