hey can someone help me when i try to talk out of my mic it doesn't work....it's plugged in the right spot i already triple checked and my things are checked off in cs so that i can use my mic plus my voice input is on and i checked my volume control settings but it nothing is working does any1 know wut i can do? *i can hear sounds of my mic i just cant use it so im pretty sure its not broken*

Type voice_loopback 1 in console and then talk in game to see if you can hear yourself talking.

Make sure your microphone is installed correctly, meaning all updated drivers.

its weird it was working about an hour and then i go to google right now to look at some crip walkin vids and the sounds dont work but i try limewire or myspace and it works so im like wdf..

Your sound card may be on the fritz.

Had this problem almost 10 times in the past.

I put in a new sound card..

What type of mic do you have?

Is it one that just plugins into the mic port in your sound card or is it the kind that plugins into the USB port?

Sweaty, WTF are you going on about? Mic's never ever plug into video cards. You might be thinking of a sound card. I hope you are because even the name video card has nothing related to sound.
