Discuss.

This is pretty interesting IMO. It brings a lot of possibility to future computing and how we go about using them.

Personally, I just love the keyboard, because it is so reliable: I know where to place my fingers, and I can use it pretty efficiently without even looking at it. IMO the keyboard is THE input device =P

But, admittedly, this thing does look interesting for some tasks... I'd have to try it out to know. Then again, touchscreens have been about for a while; I'll be impressed when we have a true usable 3D interface of some form.

I don't see it as immediately replacing the PC (if it ever does), but as stated from interviews with Microsoft it will be for commercial use at the moment. Such as they examples they provided with restaurants and what not.

The thing with this is that you have to look down while using it, and from my experiance looking down at that angle makes my neck stiff after a while. I like being able to look straight ahead to see the moniter and not look at my keyboard. This is mostly just sparkle and glitter to show off with, not for actual computer gaming/programming.

Yes, RTS games and web browsing sound like excellent uses for this.

And, minesweeper, if this thing can somehow detect two different kind of clicks.

Whoa, imagine playing minesweeper with a touchscreen!!!!!

This is rather old news, but I can't stop getting impressed by the technology. I think this will come to image / movie / newspaper etc. editing pretty soon, but for normal comptuer use I don't think that's too good. Still, cool technology, absolutely.

Microsoft once again didnt come up with their own idea, this has been done many years ago, but the company doing it didnt have enough support and died, the videos are on youtube some where, If I find them I will share.
